• Warm & Sift: Warm your bowl (chawan), then sift 1 tsp (about 2g) of matcha powder into it to remove clumps.

• Add Water: Pour in 2–3 oz (70–90 ml) of hot, filtered water (165–195°F / 74–90°C).

• Whisk: Using a bamboo whisk (chasen), whisk briskly in a “W” or “M” motion until a fine, creamy foam forms on top.
